One of my friends gave me a set of kettlebells for Christmas last year. Kind of a bizarre entity to try and wrap but there it is. They also got me a few instructional training and workout videos. These things will with a bit of luck get me into the best shape that I've ever been in. Who knows, maybe next year I will pay it forward and purchase them for someone else.
Why are kettlebells such a helpful tool for exercising? First of all, kettlebells help you use muscles that you normally wouldn't. The deep muscle work that you can get from using kettlebells cannot be achieved by most other conventional forms of workouts, as shown by fitness authorities like Lorna. Yoga, Pilates, and aerobics all fade in comparison to kettlebell exercises and the deep muscle/tendon work.
Kettlebell workouts are one of the few that present the afterburn effect. The afterburn effect is where your body persists to burn fat and calories long after you have stopped working out. This result can last as long as two days, making this form of training the ideal exercises to help spark a slow metabolism and maximize the benefits of working out.
Kettlebells are also very convenient to use. I kept mine in my family room at home. This was done so that I could exercise whenever I got home from work or on the weekends. I discovered that because of the comparatively short workout time needed with them, having another set of these weights at the office was one of the best investments that I've made to date.
My friends, who knew my desire to get healthier but also realizing how busy I am made the best decision in getting me a complete kettlebell training package. The videos, combined with the distinct weights themselves, have aided to push me on my way to the best shape of my life. I even took those before pictures to have proof of what I looked like. I can't wait because in two months of industriously training, I'm hoping the after pictures will be eye-popping.
