Try These 7 Sneaky Ways to Naturally Stop Snoring

By Sam Kappel

I am going to discuss 7 effective and simple ways to naturally stop snoring. 45% of adults suffer from snoring and that doesn't include the sleep partner that may also suffer from a person's snoring. Out of the adults that snore, around 75% struggle with sleep apnea. Sleep apnea can become dangerous and even life threatening if left untreated.

What is the cause behind snoring? Snoring happens when the tongue and tissues of the mouth block the airway passage. The tongue and tissues over relax during sleep to the point where they fall into the throat and cause blockage. When air is forced into the airway it causes these tissues to rattle. The vibration makes the sound of snoring. The unique methods I am going to share with you below may help.

1.) Sleeping on your side is one of the best ways to stop snoring. Sleeping on your side helps avoid the tissues and tongue from falling into the back of the throat. This keeps them from blocking the airway. Anti snore pillows and snore bumper belts are a great way to help comfortably keep you on your side during sleep.

2.) Losing excess weight is a big way to naturally stop snoring and sleep apnea. People that are obese tend to have extra weight around their neck. This excess weight presses against the throat. This can cause the airway to restrict and make it easier for the tissues to block it.

3.) Practice special throat, mouth and tongue exercises for sleep apnea and snoring. These simple exercises help strengthen the tongue and tissues of the mouth. Strengthening these tissues makes it harder for them to over relax and fall into the airway.

4.) Cut out dairy products a couple hours before you sleep. Dairy causes mucus build up in the throat and nasal passages. The build up can make it harder to breath and cause snoring.

5.) Avoid dairy products at least a couple hours before sleeping. Dairy products cause mucus build up. Mucus build up clogs the nasal passages and makes it difficult to breath. Clogging the nasal passages can cause snoring.

6.) Try doing throat, mouth and tongue exercises for snoring and sleep apnea. These special, but simple, exercises help strengthen the tongue and tissues so they do not over relax.

7.) Keep nasal passages clear and open. Breathe strips and neti pots are a good way to help with this.

These are a few simple methods that may help. It depends on the person if they work or not. Try some of these and I hope they work.
