At the level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the game recorded more than 671 teams at the colleges in 2012. That notwithstanding, college clubs have got more than 500 programs specifically meant for this game. This count does not include the women teams that range in about 200 and participate at in the Intercollegiate Associates stage.
